6″ x 8″ Portrait (in 8″ x 10″ mount)

(+ £50 extra for additional subject)

buzz and dory the black labs

A great option for: A stunning piece on a bookshelf or bedside table.

This option is perfect for those who are looking to have a pet portrait done in a slightly shorter timeframe. Although they are smaller, these portraits are still highly detailed and are sure to make an impression.

Because of their slightly quicker turnaround, 6″ x 8″ pet drawings make ideal gifts for birthdays and Christmas.

8″ x 10″ Portrait (in 11″ x 14″ mount)

(+ £70 extra for additional subject)

Ralph the Flat Coated Retriever
Loki the cat

A great option for: A statement piece on the mantelpiece or as a standalone wall portrait.

My most popular option; an extremely detailed portrait of approximately A4 size. My 8″ x 10″ portraits take longer to complete so would be more suited to a very special occasion such as a 60th birthday or wedding.

11″ x 14″ Portrait (in 16″ x 20″ mount)

(+ £100 extra for each additional subject)

Otta the labrador

A great option for: A feature piece above a mantelpiece or above a sofa.

This is an exceptionally detailed pet portrait drawing measuring 11″ x 14″ which is slightly smaller than A3 size. This large drawing is sure to make a real statement and would be an extra special gift for someone to mark a milestone occasion.

I send completed pet drawings by Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery within the UK Mainland and Northern Ireland and a tracking number will be provided. I can also ship worldwide, though delivery timings and cost will vary on location. Delivery cost is included in the portrait price.

Premium Quality Pet Art

I have been creating pet drawings for 22 years now and experience has taught me that only the best materials will do. When someone orders a pet portrait they are looking for something to treasure for many years to come; substandard materials will only lead to disappointment. Many artists offer their work at exceptionally cheap prices but as with anything, art price is a good indication of quality.

I pride myself on creating painstakingly detailed pieces of work that truly reflect your pet’s character. As a result, my portraits can take up to 40 hours to complete; my prices reflect this.

My Materials

I use Daler-Rowney natural fine grain textured heavyweight acid-free paper in a bright white. Firstly, the bright white contrasts excellently with the charcoal. Secondly, the grain adds more interest to the drawing.

I work with charcoal made from natural charcoal particles and mixed with the finest clays to give a smooth finish. Real depth in my work is achieved by using three grades of charcoal.

Completed and approved portraits are fixed with a setting spray to protect from smudging. I recommended that you frame your drawing as soon as possible. This will prevent it from getting dusty or damaged.

I mount each portrait in either a black or off-white cream core photo mount from Cotswold Mounts. Each board is made from virgin wood pulp, pH neutral and meets the Fine Art Guilds approval for standard mount board.

All of my pet artwork is mounted using self-adhesive, single sided, acid free (ph 7 neutral) adhesive paper tape. It is coated with an acid free, water-based acrylic adhesive system, which is non-ageing and will not turn yellow.
